Wildness Charcoal Art

Hello! I'm Michelle.

Born and raised in Massachusetts, I have always enjoyed creativity through a variety of media, including photography, video production and writing.

At 31, I felt that I hadn't lived out my true creative potential, and started drawing with graphite in July of 2024. After taking a beginners' drawing fundamentals class that fall at the Worcester Art Museum, I began working with charcoal by that October. Since then, I have enjoyed getting my hands dirty with various types of charcoal including compressed charcoal, vine/willow charcoal, charcoal pencils, and occasionally panpastels. Though I can occasionally be spotted with a micron pen on the go, charcoal is where my heart truly lies.

Now residing in Southern Connecticut by the ocean, I'm passionate about drawing wildlife, portraits and natural landscapes.
